“City-quality” artisanal pizzas and “darn good” “homemade pastas” are the double bill at this new suburban Italian (“think Tuscany in San Mateo”) where an “alum of Quince” turns out “carefully prepared”, seasonally “soulful” cucina (albeit in “very small portions”), accompanied by quartinos of Boot vinos; aside from the “rock-band” level of noise from the “‘too-cool-for school’ bar scene” and “struggling” service during “peak hours”, “it’s a delightful find” on the Peninsula, particularly if you perch “on the patio.”
